Greendale Farm Shop supports Exeter Food Festival
As a local producer of meat (from its own farmland) and fish (from its own fishing boats), Greendale Farm Shop is proud to be supporting the 2018 Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink. Celebrating the very best of regional food and drink, this family-friendly festival will take place over the early May Bank Holiday weekend (5th-7th May) in the courtyard of Exeter Castle and the surrounding Northernhay Gardens, right in the heart of the city. Attracting an audience of thousands, it offers a rare chance for visitors to buy from more than one hundred artisan food and drink producers, sample fabulous street food, attend cookery demonstrations and workshops and enjoy live music and entertainment.
During the festival, Greendale will be sponsoring the tunic of Michael Caines MBE, one of Britain’s most talented and high-profile chefs. Based at historic Lympstone Manor in East Devon, Michael is a co-founder of the festival and a passionate champion of the region’s specialist food and drink producers. As such, he’s a great fan of the fresh fish at Greendale Farm Shop, describing the fish counter as “Phenomenal… with magnificent scallops, lobsters from Lyme Bay and all different kinds of fish from the Devon coastline”.
Michael views the festival’s continued success as “proof that people in Exeter and the West Country really do care about real food”. Greendale’s representatives look forward to joining him on stage during one of his demonstrations, where he’ll be using fresh Greendale meat and fish in some of his recipes. Greendale will also be supplying fresh ingredients for the festival’s Seven Chefs Dinner, which celebrates the collective talent of seven of the South West’s most respected chefs.
Festival-goers who enjoy Greendale’s fresh produce can find more of what they love at Greendale Farm Shop, near Farringdon (just outside Exeter) and online, at www.greendalefarmshop.co.uk. A mouth-watering selection of freshly-caught fish is always available, together with meat from Greendale’s own-farmed animals, butchered on-site at the shop by expert butchers. With a Deli, Bakery, fresh fruit and veg and even an on-site café with children’s play area, Greendale is a great destination for foodies and their families.
